How long do South American lungs live?

I’ve had my guy for 5-6 years. Bought him as a baby (2-3” max). Just found him this morning when I went to change the water and he’s dead. Everyone else in the tanks fine (community fish). No changes to the tank in a long time. Just curious as to what happened. His diet was predominantly shrimp pellets and raw pieces of tilapia.

Any insight it appreciated.

Disregard. Forgot about the species profile above. Looks like the max is around 8 years, so my guys time was short, but not completely out of the range.
