How long do test kits last?

I have a freshwater master kit made by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals that I've had for quite a few years and was wondering if it has a shelf life or if there is a point at which it is no longer accurate.

same test kit, but my brother poured a bunch into his milk to see what ph it was

so i got a new one a few weeks ago

the liquid test kits if sealed properly after opening can last years. I have some that are a few years old. I bought new ones and they gave me the same results lol. a bit of a waste of money I guess..

the paper strips not nearly as long. humidity in the air over time causes them to 'react' and they are spent..

Thanks for the great link Packer,as well as the plug for cichlid forum lol.I guess if I had been a member or even a lurker over there I would have known the answer to my question...I think I'll have to conclude that my kits are no good and need to be replaced since they far exceed the shelf live numbers that were listed for the brand that I have.
