I got a pair of Hap. Flameback and the female was already holding...I guessed incorrectly on how long she was holding. They became free swimming last Thursday.
This is the first time I have had a female go the distance and was wondering how long other people keep the mom with fry?

If this is the first spawn. I would say you should watch and look for disappearing fry because she or he may have started the process of eating them. But it really depends on the mating pair. After all these years I finally came across a mating pair of Fenestratum (pink) and they have been with there fry for two weeks and have not consumed them. Actually this is probably the 3rd week.

It really depends. Some people like to strip their fish when they are still holding eggs and hatch them out themselves. I try/like to leave my fry with mom until they are free swimmers with no egg sac (works better for me), at which point I will remove them into their own tank before they get eaten. Sometimes you might have a fish that turns out to be a great parent and you can leave the fry in. I just depends. You can keep an eye on the fry as said above and if they start to disappear then you know they are probably being eaten off and may want to remove them at that point.

It all depends on the parents and if you have other fishes in the same tank . Had more success stripping them when they're holding eggs and using tumblers, the survival rate was way higher .

Thanks for the info. I will put her back in my big tank. She was holding when I got her from my LFS so i kept her isolated in a 10. I was extremely surprised when I saw the free swimming babies 8 days after I got her.
