How long do you let food sit in your tank?

Hey everyone

Most of my Bichirs are aggressive eaters and are pigs, but my ornates and laps tend to not eat in front of me.

In all the time I have had my big ornates (about 3 months now) I don't think I have ever seen them eat once. (obviously they are eating, they are fat and healthy)

Just wondering how long everyone leaves food in their tanks for their more passive/shy eaters.

with my rhom who is very weird about eating will only eat if its just me or noone near, i like to add feeders he can pick off if he gets super hungry but i stretch feeding intervals until he is basically wrecking food when i put it in. after about 12 hrs most fresh seafood begins to decompose and is mush after 2 days. my fish wont touch it after about 6hrs so i just remove it then
