im currently seeding my 90 gallon with gravel from my other tank and with my 2 year old aquaclear 110. when can I put some fish in there?

Take some seeded material from the filter of the tank that has been running and place it in the filter of the newly set up tank. You can add fish immediately.

if the filter was in use just before you put it on that tank you're good to go. the cycling process refers to the build up of beneficial bacteria in the filter, so if had been running for two years on an established tank there will be no cycle.

you gotta put something in there for the bacteria to eat or else the beneficial bacteria will die, i used guppys but you can also use pellets or any sort of food. It will help the bacteria reproduce, autotrophic bacteria (the kind you want) takes 14 days to reproduce, so i would say 2 weeks minimum. I waited a solid 3-4 when i seeded my 70 and had no problems. But since your using such an old filter and havent scrubbed it clean, you might be good to go. But if you have any really delicate fish i would wait a while with those just in case

so im good to go? I also have some filter media just sitting on the bottom of the tank. ill just be putting some CA cichlids in.
