how long should i cycle a tank with feeder goldfishes before i can begin putting "real" fishes in it?

a week to two is recommended, if you have a other tank set up you can put some bio media in that which will reduce the time right down. I did a bad thing but it worked out, I put a sponge from a 10 gallon filter in a 120 litre and put a baby oscar in the next day, its still living :D

do you think a channa straita, spotted gar and bichir would do well in the tank after it has been cycled for a day? :P

No.
a tank must be cycled ( with heaters, filter, etc ) for about 5 - 8 days before adding your fish. You may also want
to put a de chlorinator and stress coat in the tank.
A channa straita - 1 meter
spotted gar - 2 - 3 feet.
Bichir - 1 - 3 feet
so most of those fish will work unless you get them a 600 + gallon home in the future.
Better fish for your tank would be.
Mormyrids
Predatory characins
rainbow snakehead
Bichirs
cichlids
etc

Spotted gars usually only get to 18-24 inches so you'll be fine for a while but you may want to consider a 180 or larger in a year or so. The Poly should be okay also. I really don't know much about the snakehead but I'm sure you've looked it up.

As for cycling I would cycle with what you've got for around a week and add a dechlorinator and a good amount of stress coat asap. Good luck with your fish. Sounds like a goood monster tank.
