I've been going through prime like crazy with weekly water changes and it will get worse with my 125 up and running. A 8.5 oz bottle will last me pretty much a month exactly, some times more some times less but about a month exactly.

I was just going to buy a few bottles of Prime. 3 at the most, but where would I store it. I'm sure the Prime lasts 3 months easily, but most things like that you have to store it a right way or they go bad etc. Right now I keep the prime in one of the drawers that gets no light in the fish room.

I got an 8.5oz that's last me about 2 years now. I do weekly water changes that total about >100g

You gotta be changing a crap load of water to use that prime up that fast. Or maybe overusing it. Just a little goes a long way. With storage, you idea is fine. It will hold for longer than you need to worry about.

Wow, just really thought about how much you are using. Your 8.5 oz is made to treat around 2500 gallons of water. Imo you are using too much witch is of no benifit to your tank, only hurts the pocket book.

No way!!!! Did you read the directions?

"Use 1 ml for each 10 gallons of water. For freshwater or saltwater use. 100 ml treats over 1,000 gallons; 250 ml treats over 2,500 gallons"

I use the cap to measure. Well maybe more than a month, IDK really, ive never kept track.

With the cap though it's not that easy to measure a 29 and a 20 gallon tank, so I know I'm using too much there. Plus I treat for the whole tank which uses more. It's only 6.36 for me a month if not less if It lasts longer(IDK really). So I'm not really worried about the cost, I just don't like to have to buy it every month or so. THought I could stock up and be good for ahwile. I work at petsmart and there are tons of prices changes monthly(most one them are prices that have to go up), so I'd rather buy Prime now while it's 7.49, then wait a month or two and it jumps to 7.99.

Thanks though guys, appreciate the help.

The prices really jump up that much?

Buy Pond prime...........:naughty:

We have a pond section and I've thought about that. IS there any differences that would effect normal fish.

Well it all depends. On our top sellers, like Milkbone bones and beggin strips(just to name a few) the prices will jump at most 30 cents if that. Hoping that the customers won't notice as much, I know it's dumb but it's life. While stuff we don't sell as much(Prime) it can jump 50 cents and noone will notice, well not as much. Alot of stores come up with tricks like this. Would you rather see a product you buy jump 1.50 or slowly go up .30 cents over a few months.

The big difference between "pond" prime and prime? THE SIZE!!!!

Same stuff, bigger bottle.
