I'm pretty sure my battery is fried and spent. I get about 50 minutes to 1 hour if I'm lucky with it being on the AC the 8 hours that I'm at work. This isn't a very expensive laptop but c'mon an hour If I'm lucky, this is just doing easy tasks also...checking email, MFK, facebook no watching movies or etc.

I think I need a new battery, this one will have to do until I get the dough though.

theres a few factors with this. for instance, much like cellphone batteries, laptop batteries will die faster if they have less signal while on a wireless network. this is just one example of why it may be dying fast, although many laptop batteries are no good after a year of regular use

8 hours, so I could bring it to work and use it the whole day! Wow, that would be great, lol.

I have 4/5 bars on the signal thingie. Actually it jumps from 4/5 to 5/5. I just think it's old, jw what others get. Thank tho!

as soon as its unplugged it dies lol

Seems like the manufacturers of these laptops need to make a longer lasting battery. That would mean less money on their end so I doubt it would happen.

There's a HP battery check on the laptop so I tested it incase it needed recalibrated(IDK I just did what it said).....it just said to replace the battery. LOL

If you always leave it plugged in, even when it is fully charged, the battery dies very very quickly.

When you buy a new laptop, plug it in until it is charged. Then, unplug it until you have about 15 min left. DO NOT RUN IT COMPLETELY OUT OF BATTERY. Then, plug it in until charged.

Rinse and repeat.

Otherwise, you kill the battery, and it won't hold a charge.
