how long does your weekly water change take?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Cleaning my tank(s) each week only take about 3 hours. Even with large tanks you can work it down to a science. I actually enjoy working on my tanks so if it takes longer it's a labor of love ;)

Takes me 45 minutes to do the 150....15 minutes to both 10s! I have my 7 year old help with the planted tank so it takes longer!

Depends on how much algea I have to scrap off the class and if filters need clean. On average 45 mins to and hour on the 150. About 20 mins on the 75, 15 mins on the 55 and about 10 mins on the 30. One reason the 150 takes so long besides the algea scrapping and the size is I take out all the rocks and decor my other tanks don't have any decor

To drain and refill my 225(60-70% wc), about 1.5hrs. I fill a tub from the shower and use a pump to pump it back in the tank. Thats why it takes so long. I do wc's every 3rd to 4th day. I also change out my filter sock daily. BUt that only takes about 30 seconds.

I clean my 55g fancy gold/chaca tank weekly. That takes about 20 minutes.

So on average 3-4 hours a week cleaning tanks. Cant wait to get a garage and have em on auto-drips.

The big tank (450 gallons) alone is 3-4 hours a week. While its draining and filling I can get 1 or two smaller tanks done. The other two bigger tanks (180 and 125) take about 3 hours in addition to what I spend on the 450.

My 190 takes me a little over an hour when I do a 60% water change and gravel cleaning.
75 Gallon takes me 20 minutes, also a 60% change.
1 Only change change the water once a week on both tanks.

takes around 1 hr and 20 min to clean 210,125,75x2 and a 29gal doing 50% WC on each unless cleaning filters also.
