I may get one more tank to house my silver dat for about 18 months or so. Would a 50 gallon (36"x 18" footprint) be okay for a 4 1/2" silver dat for that length of time? Or should I put the 4 1/2" green terror in that size tank instead for that length of time?

P.S.- this in in the datnoid forum because I need to know if the dat will outgrow that tank.

i would just add the dat and not the GT. there was a recent thread where someone's GT was beating up on his Dat. the dats will fight but prolly not that badly. also they are recommended to be kept in atleast a group of 3 or odd numbers.

Yes, that size tank would be fine for a AT for 18 months.

LOL, that was me! :screwy: Anyways, I was only planning on putting either the dat or GT, but not both. We'll see.

You'll be fine with that setup. I had a few ATs in 36x18 for quite a while and they were fine.

Now to find a tank for cheap... :)

So. . . based on the footprint of a tank, would a 50 gallon (36"x 19") or a 55 gallon (48"x12") be a better choice for housing my silver dat, and maybe some buddies?
