how long for pearsei to get colors

I have one that is about six inches and he/she is not showing hardly any color yet. most of my fish are showing some adult colors but not this one does any body have any thoughts.

Should have already started to color up... Mine is about 4-5" and I would say around the 3" mark he started to get some colors! How is the water quality? Food type? Anyone picking on him?

Water is great and all the fish have a buffet I feed hikari gold and staple, vegi and cichlid flakes, color crisp and cichlid sticks, mico crab granules and shrimp pellets. He is the largest fish in the tank nobody bothers him oh and he came from jeff rapps

Does anybody else have experience growing these. Mine is also thick its just plain olive color with blk accents very lil color only in dorsal fin

Mine is a pig. Has a coca-cola coloration. Black belly with some of his bars showing mostly. Has some of the "spangles" in him anal, dorsal and tail fins. I have to say he is extremely pretty! I don't have a camera either....

I do have a camera I'm at work now but this evening Ill try to get some good pics. There are some of him in my profile that are a few months old I think
