I'm going to be going away for about 4 days and I was wondering how long is safe to leave a tank. I have a 125 with a 12" Mbu, 5 "NTT, 12" Fire Eel, and a 6 " Bichir. Also a 75 with a 5"GT and some convicts as well as a 5" Carpinte in a 40 breeder. Will they all make it 4 days unharmed? I worry about the electricity going out but there isnt much I can do about that without a battery back up. I thought I could flood the tanks with ghost shrimp and feeders to be safe. Any input?

I don't think you even need to overfeed before you leave. I would do nothing different. Your fish will be perfectly fine for 4 days.

yea I agree do a good water change or two before and shove some ghost shrimpers in and you should be good. Not really a need to worry about over feeding them before. they will just be hungry little mothers when you get back :)

4 days without food is nothing to adult healthy fish.Make sure the tanks are topped off and all the filters are in proper working order before you go.

Dont even sweat it! Your fish were all starved for probably over a week pre and during shipping! Four days will be no problem. Just feed them a little heavy the two or so days prior if you are really worried.

you might have a nipped fin or two, but everything should be fine.
