how long can i have a baby SAL in a 80cm x 38cm and are they alrigth with stingrays.

No sting ray would last in that tank. It's way to small.

i don't have one yet , it is just a temportay tank untill pond is done.
and the size i will get the smallest one i can get.

Then don't buy the sting ray even if you found one already as it will die sooner or later. The SAL can be in that tank for a while and you can move it once your pond is done.

I got my SAL about 8" and it grew to 21" in less than a year. It's now 37" long and almost 3 years old. It started to grow slow at 25"

One SAL would be find in 5x2x2 for life. They don't need that much space. All you need is a filter that can hold a lot of bio-load.
