How long should i wait before euthanizing

I think my Gar's back is broken or something (Read my previous thread to find out the details if you would like..). His back is bent to the right where his head begins and he cannot turn it to left at all. Its been this way for a couple of days.
If my Gar needs to be euthanized in the long run.. How long should i wait?
Its only been a few days since his problems began and im glad to give him more time to try and recover (Up to 1 month) but i would like to know how likely it is that he will recover, so i know whether or not im wasting my time and his. Thanks a lot.

you really need to post pics, would really help. if the fish is not eating at all and is unable to move then the sooner, the more humane. but it's entirely your call.

What's the kindest way to euthanize a fish?

Nothing is all that kind about euthanizing an animal of any sorts, but I've found that clove oil works very well and is very quick (fish is gone in a matter of seconds). But it stinks up the house for a while.
