I put a 3D background in my African cichlid tank and I'm not sure how long I should let it dry. The instructions that came with the background says to wait 24 hours, but the tube of silicone says wait 48 hours? How long should I leave it?

should firm up within 5 mins and fully cure in 24 to 48 hrs. i would wait 24 to be very safe.

I used ge 100% silicone on my build and waited about 24hrs and didnt have a leak. So 24 is prob good

In two hours ( that will be 24 hours) I'm going to take the weight off the BG and see how it looks. If it looks good I'll wait 2 hours and fill it. If it looks bad I'll wait until tomorrow.

depends on airflow and how thick it is. thicker and less air flow could mean it takes a week to dry. go to lowest and buy a moister meter youll find it by the silicone. on ur siicone itll say cured at 13percent or somthing. thats when u know for sure.

It's pretty solid. Got the tank upright with the sand and rock work in it and it looks pretty nice. Unfortunately the seem is visible but bot that bad. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to add water but I think it would be fine if I added it now. I tried to pull the background off and it didn't budge at all. But, better safe than sorry. I'll wait until tomorrow.
