im wondering how long i should wait to introduce my new female green severum to my male to see if they'll pair up. He is a little more than twice her size at 6 inches and shes around 3. Ive seen people pair them up at greater size differences than this but i dont know if thats harmful to her health or not, opinions greatly appreciated

What are you waiting from currently, QT tank? I think you would be good but if she is going in with your psittacus keep a close eye on her. You saw mine yesterday and after the greens spawned and started guarding their spot, my psittacus got very aggressive towards them. There was nothing before that.
no, my psittacus is in my 55 all by itself, its gonna stay there till i decide what to do with it. i have the female green sev in my 75, the male is in my 125. im just wondering how long until i try putting her in the 125 with my male and other fish. Its amazing though, my 125 now is the perfect picture of peace now that the Psittacus is out. the Chocolate isnt even bothering to hold a territory anymore. I know they wont actually breed when shes that small, nothing viable anyway, but i thought id get the opinion of MFK, anyone else...........?
If they pair up..you should consider yourself lucky...Severums sometimes are hard to pair up..you would be better off trying to get at least three females and let the male strut around and try and get one to "bite".
well i know its a different species but my 3.5" hrp paired up with a 1 inch female. theyve had 3 spawns alrdy. pretty sure the big one is the male. but thats just as a ratio type thing for ya.
