I heard this is great at keeping water clear. Its been in for 3 hours and has shown no improvement. Ive put some in every tank. How long does it normally take to show improvement? Thanks!!!

It depends on how much debris that is in your aquarium. Just keep changing out when it is dark and you should start to notice clearing of aquarium water combined with wc's. By no means am I saying your aquarium is dirty it also could be excessive food etc.

It ALSO depends on making sure you have NO BYPASS.....

What kind of filters do you have it in? Eventually assuming it's placed well with no bypass, it will start working it just may take a few days, assuming you're not having a bacterial "bloom" of sorts.

One last thing....learn patience or you will not do well with this hobby. We are essentially keeping very tiny tiny pieces of nature in out homes, and nature can never be "rushed" but so much, or you will eventually lose on a bigger scale (by using chemicals, changing water parameters too fast, etc.)

Best of luck....

Good advice. And it applies to just about every situation. I believe everyone should take that advice, including myself.

Hello; May I assume the polyfill went into a filter??

Hello; As others have posted this is not so long. If however the water is still cloudy after a few days, then more information about your setups may be helpful.

Hello; These.
Yes, it is in a filter and my water is not cloudy. Its just now unreal clear.

I don't think anything can really be concluded in just three hours. I do agree that the key is ensuring the water is going through and not bypassing. I think that would logically help for greater filter efficiency.

I know all applications are different; with my own experience with a sump - cut out two poly-filter with a felt sandwiched in between. I place this in tray/chamber right before the return pump. I found that this has been the best use of the chamber. I had to experiment and at one point only had a single felt and I wasn't taking advantage of the set-up.
