it depends on the temp and how much u feed

Alot depends on the Arow himself... how big his tank is ... how good his quality of food not so much how much.... and most important how good his water is... do alot of water changes... and you will have a monster in no time... i have mine 7 years now... he is about 30+ inches.. i think he is still growing.. but the first couple of years is when they grow the most... most arows have a short life span due to jumping... they jump out of the water after insects etc in the wild... so right from the start make sure you cover up all the hatches and tiny spaces with tape... so no openings... and as he gets stronger and bigger always weigh down the top ... my last one pushed the top right off and i found him there on the floor... all 34 inches of him... so heed my warning...and good luck with your new baby..

Mines was 6" back in December 08 and now it's 18". It jumped and forced opened the lid. My wife called me and was freaking out. I told her grab it with a towel and throw um back in. Later I came to find out she fed it but forgot to put the 72" lamp fixture over the lid end. So yeah, keep them lids weighted down.

Depends on a lot of factors as others have pointed out.

Diet
Tank size
Maintainance
etc

The average silver grows 1 to 1.5 inches a month up to about the 24" mark. Once they reach about 24" their grow slows in length to about 2" per year, but they do put on alot more bulk .

just curious, cuz I'm planning a plywood build 96"x48"x30" tank, and wanna make sure he won't outgrow a 36" wide tank before I get a chance to build it lol

If your tank now is 36" wide already and I'm assuming the length is higher than 72", the silver should be able to live in there for life! But, bigger is always better.

But yeah everyone already answered your question about their growth rates....I have 10 of them in a 55 gallon and got them at 2.5"-3" now only a month later they are all 4.5"-5". So they grow quickly...

A silver aro is not gonna do well in a 73" long tank when it is 30 plus inches long.
