I realize thier are variables in this, so there is no absolute answer. But on the average given the right conditions ie: healthy diet, proper tank size, and weekly H2O changes, how long do you think it takes. Also going beyond size what about sexual maturity for male and female.

Roughly one year.

Sexual maturity comes a little later, but not by much. 2 years, I've found.

They should be at least 9 or 10" after a year and definately a foot after 2 years. They can still carry on growing after that but it's very slow from that point on.

depending on the care of the fish, i'd say anywhere from a year-to a year and a half for a good 1 footer, after that if you have more room they will continue to grow.

oscars (taken good care of) get to approx 12-14in(standered length)
the min size for an oscar to be sexually mature is 6in. usually they mature around 8in. which takes about 8months from birth.

you may never now the time but they never stop growing the more live food the larger thy get

oscars never stop growing but after 2 years they will grow very slowly
