I got a couple cons a few weeks ago and they spawned in my tank and the eggs are on the back wall of the tank. They are guarding them well. I have never had cichlids that lay eggs before, only had yellows before. Anything i should know or do? They are in a tank with a 3-4 inch male GT. The tank is 30 gallons, i know its pretty small for a gt and con pair but they seem to be doin well. I want to know how long it takes the eggs to hatch, she laid them late sunday nite or early monday morning.

brownish orangish is normal colour for eggs should hatch in about 2-4 days after being layed (my personal experience) adn the parents will guard them afte rthey hatch

i geuss you could put up a divider it wouldnt give each fish very much space but it may work until you can get a larger or more tanks
well they hatched the other day, she has them under a couple rocks, havent seen em yet. When will they start to swim around? Iv been tossing in mysis flakes crushed up, hoping they will get some but i cant see them. Anything i should be doing??
