How long till my Peacock bass shows color?

I recently picked up 2 cichla ocellaris they are about 2-3" and also a cichla temensis about 3-4" and I was just wondering about how long will it take till they start showing some color and how long till the get a good amount of color, and is there anything I can do to help them produce some nice colors? such as foods or anything? Try Hikari Bio-Gold Cichlid and Krill. I had an Ocell that started to color up around 5" but I'm not sure about Tems...never had them before.
