I got sand for my 100 gallon fresh water. The people at my lfs told me i can get safe sand a lot cheaper at home depot. I got it my fish are fine but the water is really cloudy. I can only see about 3 inches into the tank. Its getting less cloudy but slowly. Anyone have any experience with this how long till its clear?

JK ... do some water changes every day or two and it'll clear faster. Should have rinsed your sand!

I hear pillow cases work well 
My water clouded with seachem fluorite sand, but did a couple big water changes and put a sponge over my filter intake to collect the rest and it cleared up pretty fast.
