how long till redtail cuda put grows 55 gallon??

until about 6 inches, but the 2 6 inchers I had were unhappy in a 12" wide tank. THey are not huge fish but they need room.
They were very nervous when kept in a small tank, didn't eat that much, didn't swim around much.
When I moved them to a 150 they were completely different fish. Active, hungry, not nervous at all.
They are very fast fish, they need a lot of room.

55g is no good at any size! Like rumblesushi said, They need alot of open water space to feel comfortable..
When I had mine they were in a 50g (wide) 48"x18"x13 1/2", the extra 6" in width meant they were okay even at 9-10" long.
After 8" its going to bust its nose. They are skittish and need to have room to run without bumping things
