My new rays are doing great but are only eating bloodworm (WHICH THEY LOVE) how long do you think it will be before they eat, mussle, prawn and cockle? Ive had em for 4 full days. Do they need more time? Thanks!
how big are they Bruce? you might need to chop up the prawn's up a bit. Remember they are wild fish and some can take longer than others to get going on to frozen food's.
when i first got my leo's all those years ago one ate prawns straight away and one wouldnt eat them for a couple of months, as long as they are eating somthing i wouldnt worry, they will eat them eventually.
I got my retics to eat krill by mixing it in with the blood worms. Eventually they got the idea that it was food. Once I got them eating krill I mixed in some shrimp with the krill. After they figured out that was food too, they pretty much ate anything.
When I got 3 of my rays they had been fed blackworms and the 4th ray ghost shrimp. The 3 that that had eaten black worms took right to eating earthworms chopped up. The 4th ate earthworms after 2 feedings of ghost shrimp to settle him in. I just got them on frozen krill by soaking the thawed krill in a small amount of aquarium water with cut up earthworms. I dumped the bowl into the tank all at once and they ate everything.
