I have a 125 with 2x Emperor 400's and on Saturday (11/24) I picked up an FX5, now my question is should my FX5 be fully seeded with beneficial bacteria by now? I plan on removing one or two (if I'm lucky) Emperors to use on different tanks. I know there's no way of exactly knowing but someone has to have an educated guess.
How long to seed new filter??

When changing filters, I usually give it a week. Haven't ran into tanks re-cycling or anything, the 3 or 4 times that I've done it.

I personally have always used two weeks and have never had a recycle. Could be shorter, but for me 2 weeks is more than enough.
