how long to sterilise tank ornaments?

I'm moving a piece of ornament (like a weird fake wood thing) from one tank to another, the tank its coming from has ICH, thats just starting to clear, I want to sterilise the ornament to kill any infection. I plan on submerging it inboiling water, how long should i leave it in there for until i can put it in another tank?

Just soak the ornament in water with bleach added to it. That will kill any living organisms on it. No need to boil the ornament. It may melt.

I'm sure it won't melt its made of Pottery definately not plastic. I don't really want to be messing around with bleach as I want to put it into another tank soon and don't want to risk killing the inhabitants

If its only ich leave it to dry for 24hrs or more ich cant withstand drying out or if youre really desperate h2o2

I'd also use bleach. Just rinse in the bleach/water solution...then in clean water with some dechlor added.

Nothing living will remain...
