How long to treat with formalin?

My new long-eared sunfish was flicking pretty angrily in quarantine, so I've added a half-dose of Formalin. Will it kill the BB? How long to treat? It's 37% concentration. The suggested use says to add two drops per gallon every other day until "control is achieved". Okay, so how will I know that control is achieved?! Will a half-dose work alright or should I finish the course at full dosage?

most medication kills bb
i dont use formalin i use methylene blue and it does kill bb thats why a hospital tank and qt tank is important

finish with full dosage
if you use half dose the signs would go away but its still there

What is "finish" here? There are virtually no instructions.
