I used hot glue to glue some pleco hides together.

How long should I wait before adding them to the tank?

I've read hot glue is aquarium safe when fully cured.

It’s safe and I’d wait 24hrs before placing in aquarium.

I also only wait a few minutes and have never had a problem. Although it is silicone just like what we as a sealant, it does not contain acetic acid as a solvent. Instead it it melted with heat and it cures as it cools down (very quickly).

I don't think they're silicone, they're various low melting point plastics.

Google says generally " ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), polyesters, polyethylene, polyamide, polyolefin and ethylene-methyl acrylate (EMA)."
