how long until a columbian shark needs to be in brackish

Though someone here might know, this particular sub forum is specifically for saltwater sharks (as in real sharks).

The Columbian Shark is technically a species of catfish, which lives in brackish water.

As when it needs to live in brackish - I would go with right away. Or at least freshwater with a little salt added to it. Maybe enough to raise the salinity to 1.005-1.010 SG.

this is the proper salinity ...but they do not need to be in brackish until 4 -6 inches.. as soon as they reach this approximate size they should be slowly acclimated to brackish... otherwise they will get all kinds of skin issues... skin turns black... and eventually they die...so depending upon OP's choosing the size ... depends on what size to put them in brackish

They are schooling species that prefer marine conditions as adults & grow to ~18". I hope you have a HUGE tank in their future!
