How long will a poly survive - possible "rescue"

So guys I have the oppurtunity to "resuce" a polypterus. someones friend got it on impulse and is rehoming it due to it eating everything. I can pay for courier, it's 2, maybe 3 days delivery for up to 22lbs

So would a poly be able to take that trip? Thinking polystyrene box and lots of water as well as having it not get fed for a few days

It's still hard to find these in my end of the country, so it's worth it. Do you think it'll be fine?

It should have a decent chance as long as it is packed tightly with enough water and oxygen....don't they gulp air above the surface? Heat could very well be an issue on a two or three day journey.

while by far it is not ideal I once had 2x 10" ropes and a 12" lungfish shipped 2 day usps well they lost them for 2 days and they spent 4 days in transit when I got them the ammonia smell was horrible and I went to rescue mode and they all survived but it took a couple days till they would eat

they are air breathers yes

this is a lil 4" sen so I think it could work

Some add cooling packs when it's warm.

It's winter right now. temperature goes 55-65 normally
