How long will BB last?

As the title states how long will my bb last in an established tank with filters and heaters running, but no fish?

About 10 hours at the most. You could dose it with a little pure ammonia or just dump some food in there to feed the bacteria

Not without any food source, i.e ammonia, nitrites. Are you removing all fish?

Throw some food in there. Something for the bacteria to feed on.

Moving fish around and haven't decided who I want in there yet. Thanks for the info I will reseed with one of my other filters before adding fish back in.

do a water change and test your water... an "aged system" can stay cycled for weeks past fish removal if rotting food particles, poop, ect is still in the tank... check your water.. do a water change.... check it again the next day... if your nitrates shift you can gradulally add fish in again. but it's prolly less of a hassle to just "re-cycle" the tank.
