12 hours in. So far so good. :nilly:

This Dorado needs a new home. Seems fine with anything I've tried keeping him with EXCEPT other Dorado.

The Franky (Dorado) is around a foot, might be a little bigger. (6) Odoe 7-8", (5) Marbles 7" to a foot, (3) Silver dollars, a 8-9" MBU, and a 10" Niger.....

Just wish the tank had some more height. Tank is 6x3x20" :(

Dorado is still in the process of healing from trying to house with the angry Franky. :irked:

Do not know how long it will last but awesome fish. Good luck!

I don't have an opinion on how long it'll last as I have no experience owning any of them (other than the silver dollars :)), but that dorado looks super menacing in the first shot. One of the first head-on views I've seen of one, they're very solid looking.

I hope it works out without any real incidents, that's a really good looking combination.

I don't think it will last, eventually the dorado will turn on the odoes and they will get spooked by his pacing back and forth. I tried it before just not at that size and not on this scale and the first time the odoe was bigger than the dorado and tried to kill him within the hour. I waited a few months until the dorado got larger and reintroduced it and the tables turned and I had to separate them again. Eventually I got rid of the odoe and that's when I started my Dorado/Brycon/Mala community. But good luck I have my fingers crossed for you.

Nobody wants to guess time frame? C'mon! That's half the fun!!!!

In my experiences with Odoe (groups of 4+) they usually leave everything too big to eat alone. I'm hoping with 6 Odoe in there that they are bold enough as a group not to let the Dorado push them around.

I know Dorado personalities vary fish to fish, as I have a Franky here that actually makes this Dorado look wimpy, that guy is a menace, he is the fish responsible for the rag doll makeover this Dorado got. But this one has seemed to play nice in the past even amongst the Masheers in which the smallest was less than half the Dorado's size.

Hopefully they play nice, as that would make it much easier to find this guy a new home. Really don't want to, but when you have 3 Dorado that have no tolerance for each other someone's going to have to get voted off the island.

Interested in getting another frankie? Lol

Seems to be going quite well.... :D

Haven't seen any nips or torn fins at all yet. The Odoe almost look like they join in with the Dorado doing laps at times. :grinno:
