Im buying this male 8" fader flowerhorn tmrw for 50 bucks from a local guy i know. The fish is in real nice condition and is about a year old. Its current diet is hikari bio gold/cichlid gold and omega one pellets. He's bres a couple times but wasnt powerfed or overbred or anything. His body looks good no visual deformities.. When i get him hes going to be alone in a 90 gallon tank. If i keep his current diet, dont breed him (hes goin to be alone) and keep great water quality, how long can i expect this guy to live?? Im really hoping 6+ years but ive heard flowerhorns can have pretty short life spans :( the guy im getting the fish from says the fish has strong bloodlines and has a lot of trimac in its blood..dont know if that makes a difference. Here are some pics the guy sent me, let me know what you think!

Being that it's a mix of various cichlids I'd expect easily 6 plus heck I recently had a butti pass and he was ten years old. So if given proper care you'd readily get 7-8 years out of him

Yeah hes real nice im super pumped to get him! Hes currently 8 inches but hes only a year old so im expecting a couple more inches of growth from him once hes with me. He just seems like a genetically strong flowerhorn tht could live a long life. I know some high grade flowerhorns are so inbred that they have all kinds of issues which causes them to have short lifespans
