Hi i have some java moss and fern which i need to attach to some background can these plants be out of water for a day with out affecting them?

Put it in a jug of water and it'll all be fine.

its more to do with the fact i need to let the silicon dry which i am attaching the plants with to the background.

Since it isn't really holding much of a load, I wouldn't think the silicone would have to cure completely. It would probably cure up enough in an hour to go ahead and start putting it in water, but I may be imagining something completely different than what you are trying.

No i was thinking that just wondering if i put the water in to soon the silicone would go into the water before it had solidify properly

They make an underwater epoxy, but not sure how readily available it would be in your area. I don't know for certain what would happen using regular silicone before it had enough time to dry completely. You may be right. It may break completely apart and dissolve in the tank if you don't give it the proper time.

I think if i give it 2 hours to dry be ok i can always to a poke test to see how hard it is.
coz i am using superglue for the java moss coz that easy to stick the moss with.
