How many are there? I've had my RBP for about 5 months now, and they are at about 5-6". Bought them when they were about the size of a dime. It won't take very long at all. Ultimatly, you should provide a tank that will give each Piranha 15-20 gal each. That would go down somewhat if you have a larger school and a larger tank.
They'll grow like weeds, so they can't stay in there for long, but I would upgrade them as soon as I could if I were you, it'll slow their growth a little. My 5 incher took off after I first got him (he was maybe 2" at the time) and I moved him from a 10, to a 29, and up to a 35, and then to a 75, and back down to the 35 (we have 3 2> in the 75)
