How long (approximately) would it take for beneficial bacteria to grow on a new HOB filter. The filter would be on an existing tank with an already established filter.
The reason I asked is when I first started in the hobby I either bought starter kits or the bare minimum rated filters...so I plan on moving my 10 gal filter to my 5 gal tank my 30 gal filter to my 10 gal tank and buying a new filter for the 30 gal.
