How long

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
probably don't have to upgrade if you have enough filtration (pretty darn sure you do).
if you do want to upgrade then aim for 180g.

I think it depends on tank ft print. Is it a 125gal 5' tank? IMO a 125gal might be a little cramped later on. Cariba definitely get bigger than rbp. I would say at very least 135gal(6' tank) but 150gal would probably be better. But at 4" you have a good year if not more before they need a bigger tank.

I think standard 125g should have a footprint of 72"x18", just different in height.

I don't even follow that rule anymore. with small tanks that rule could be somewhat true but once your tank gets big enough you can over stock to certain degree as long as filtration can keep up

listening to the rule is what made me get my 200g. When 1st got n 2 the hobby i went to the LFS i bought a 50gallon set up that cost me 500 big ones an i bought 10 reds which the clerk gladly sold me.{he saw a sucker comeing} then i came home an did my research{backwards ha}:screwy:shame on me, i did not know the wonders of crigslist.:headbang2 so i just ran out an got the 200g 4 less then the 50gallon set up, but keeping with my point is that there is alot to learning in this hobby an a lot of trial an error.......
