How long will it take before its safe to take the fry out of my 10gallon planted tank? thats if i can catch them.

And is there an easier way or moving they fry?
Instead of having my convicts breed than moving the convicts from the 10gallon to a 20gallon untill the fry are big enough to takeout and put in a 20gallon. than putting the parents back in the 10gallon? and etc...

When my fish breed, I usually set aside a breeding tank just for the pair....When the fry hatch, I siphon them to their growout tank...Sure, the fry will only be a yolk sac and tail for the first three days, but afterward will grow pretty quickly with regular feedings of bbs...

waho! kk i was thinking of syphoning them out but dident want to hurt them. my convicts " i counted" had 123 eggs about 56 are yellowish and the rest are clear. this is my first batch so i dident exspect all of them to make it if any. what color are the unfertile eggs?

and do i syphon them out when they start feeding on their yoak sack? or when they are free swimming?

The earlier you get the fry out, the better...Usually, cichlids are great parents, but a few fry will be accidently swalloed when the female cleans them of debris/fungi....I probably averaged 50-90 fry w/parents, as compared to 120+(the whole batch) when siphoning right after hatching...Unfertile eggs are white, and get picked off by the cleaning parent...Yellow eggs are fertile....Congrats on the brats...

Waho you dont know how happy i am right now lmao. i think i will syphon them as soone as i see they arent eggs anymore in my 20gallon i think they laid eggs 2 days ago so i should have about 3-5 days. how long before they have eggs again?
