Do you think a poly can last outta water? I ask because tonight maybe 15 mins ago i found my little buettikoferi all dried up on my living room floor  is my first reaction since it was dried up and kinda hard feeling. So i immediately grab a small bowl and fill it with a little tank water and toss him in to clean him off and to my surprise he starts wiggling and going crazy :WHOA: so i get him all cleaned up and get him back into the tank and so far still alive and acting normal after freaking out for about 5 mins. Sorry for the long story just wondered how long they can last outta water since they can breath air.

I guess it depends. Air wise, probably a long time. But I think it can cause permanent slime coat problems etc. I found a delhezi out of the water and there is no telling how long. He was still breathing but I could tell there was damage to his fins, and slime coat and he died with a couple hours of being in the water.

Yeah my guys didn't make it he was dead this morning his slime coat was all jacked up
