How many? 55 gallon

How many bichirs and of what size could I put in a 55 gallon? I was tuning 3 senegals and a delhezi, or just 4 senegals.

3-4 sens would probably be fine, wouldn't keep a del in there cuz they get over 12" and wouldn't be able to live in the 55 for life

should consider an african community setup with a 55 for sens, get 3 sens an african brown knife and a few african butterfly fish. would be sweet xD

so no delhezi then? that's okay, i'll be fine with sens. Butterfly's might work but i do sometimes go away for a the weekend so i want something that can eat pellets for an automatic feeder and/or live for that long without food. thanks for the great replies!

Get a normal sen, an albino, a long fin, and a platinum.
That's what I had planned to do in my 55G when I still had it.

You could get away with a delhezi in a 55, agree to disagree. Just don't get an ornate or endlicheri. Senegals, delhezi, and if you have some extra money a moke would also be appropriate.

they can go more than a few days w/o food no prob, if i leave for a long weekend i just leave the lights off and don't worry bout them till i get back
