ok on my 58 gallon i have 8 lemon tetras,5 black neon tetras, and 9 gymno quillero growouts 1.5". i have 2 ac110 on the tank right now but it seems like so much theres a million micr bubbles everywere and what not even if full all the way. my water is 0 amm., 0 nitrite, and 10ppm nitrates regularly with by weekly 25% wc. do you think one filter would suffice on this tank.

Ii have 2 on my 55g

Honestly 1 is probably fine with the stock you have right now. The AC110 filters 500 GPH, so thats a pretty good turnover for a lightly stocked 55. I have 600 gph on my 55 stocked heavily with african cichlids and I have no ammonia/nitrite problems.

thats what i was thinking 2 seems a lil excesive i ended up with the second one and thought id use it but now idk if i like it

You could definitely get away with one. If you find you have plenty of turnover and mechanical filtration. However if you have a heavily decorated tank with lots of gravel two may be better. Ultimately its up to you. I believe one could handle the bio load you have with ease.

put it this way. one is rated to effectively filter a 110gal tank. so yes, you could absolutely have just one on your tank. but of course, if you ask here on ]V[onsterFilterKeepers.com were going to tell you to run at least 2. lol.

as mentioned above, if you have a lot of decor and stuff in your tank, it will block the circulation because of how centralized the HOB is. this leaves you 3 options.
1. run a powerhead for added circulation
2. run both AC110s
3. my personal favorite... custom plumbing your AC110 (see the link in my sig. lol)

yes they are a quite aggresive tetra they punked my gymnos pretty bad when i got them, i like the replumbing idea thats awsome. i also have a hydor koryla #2 power head i could use to move current through my drift wood the tank has good bit of rocks and driftwood

The problem is probably that the waterfall into the tank pulls lots of air underwater with it. I have a sheet of filter floss draped over the output part of the filter which diffuses the flow really well.
