How many arowanas in 480 gallon

I would say one silver. Their eventual size is monstrous and they really need some space to move and turn around. Africans can probably be kept in a larger group

They reach 3' without a problem at all. You realize your depth of 4' is pretty much the length they get?
Just my 2 cents. I would never buy such a monster fish with such a small tank. Well, it's not a small tank but to me to it too small for the size of the fish.

I think silver aros in the right conditions in captivity can get 3ft easy, but I don't think there is a measured 4ft silver arowana in captivity.
i think at least 2 or 3. i've seen more aros in smaller tanks. i'm not saying its practical or comfortable for the fish but it can work if you do water changes more often.
