I currently have 2 an ornate and a Senegal and around Christmas I'm reaquascaping the tank with plants and Driftwood and getting about 6-8 African cichlids but could I squeeze a few more bicher in or no

The sen will be fine. The ornate will probably outgrow it sooner than later if I'm not mistaken. I haven't kept one myself but I feel like they need a 5'x2' footprint minimum and I also feel like it might devour some African cichlids once it gets some size to it. Like I said though, I haven't kept one personally so don't take my word on that.

In my 90 I have two sens and a palmas polli that are between 7 & 8 inches each, and a delhezi that just hit 10". They coexist happily with a 9" jack dempsey, 8" BGK, 12" rope fish, 5" ABK, 5" pictus cat and 3 glass catfish. I would imagine I'll be able to keep all of these fish happy for life in the tank with enough work, although I am aiming to upgrade them to a 6'x2' footprint eventually.

6~8 smaller bichir species like sen, palmas, retro, delhezi.
The ornate will have to go eventually

Hmmm.... the ornates are usually the fastst growing bichir besides the endli. Ya the ornate WILL have to go. they grow to 20 to 24 inches. you can keep basiclly 4 to 5 upper jaw species excepy for the ornate in ur tank.
