im upgrading from my 26g to a 50g, which will be housing all the 26g tennants, plus a few more fish. i was wondering how many smaller species of bichirs would be a good amount for the 50g. the tank will be 36"-18"-18" and i already have 2 senegals and a 1" ST dat. i was thinking maybe my 2 sens, 1 del, 1 weeksi, my ST and another ST or indo? any advice is appreciated.

tank might be a little small for a weeksi, as it wouldn't be able to swim too much, but other then that slight problem it seems fine. really wish they'd make a 55 18" wide

so if i switched out the weeksi for a smaller species would it be fine?

I like the 50g breeder. We have a 50 long (same footprint as a 55 but slightly shorter. Your idea for an upgrade is a good one but IMO you shouldn't add extra fish. The larger tank might look empty for a bit but the fish WILL grow into it in time and if you add fish now you'll be faced with the same problem in another year or so.

at the moment my sens are only 3 inches long and i dont need to upgrade for a while. if its the dats that are the problem i know theyll eventually outgrow the tank but propably not for another five years. what are the other 50g footprints? is there one with a bigger footprint? i wanna keep the 18" width to give the fish plenty of space.
