got an 80" x 26" x 30" tank and was wondering if that would be fine for a full size black aro or possibly even two. are they even compatible together? looking at picking them up from dangerous dan at 5" long and growing them on for a bit in my 4ft tank.

a full black arowana, I think can get to the same size as a silver. So a 26" wide tank wont be enough for 1 let alone 2. Yes, they can live together, and that size tank should be fine for awhile.

It will be ok for one. The largest black I have ever seen was 30" max (at a public aquarium). They might have the capability of getting as large as silvers but I've never seen it.
I also think that they grow slower, but others disagree. I have had a 2 silvers and a black and the black did grow slower for me.

Also, it's advisable to go with 1 or a group of 5 or more. Unless you're lucky they will fight when they get larger. Not worth the risk IMO.
