if you mean redbellies, id say 3 or 4 but you will need to upgrade when they get towards adulthood. or get a black...just one. i dont know about the laws where you are so i couldnt give real advice...sorry man.

a general rule for redbeilllies is 20 gallons per fish.

if you got a black rhom, u'd need at least 125 gallons for when it grows to full size.
