long term or rest of their life

Assume wq and feeding is good, and tigers start at 2-3 inch, say after 7 to 8 yrs roughly, a indo or St will be as long as your tank is wide.

U could keep say 6-8 indos (small one 2-3 inch) for 4- 5 years roughly. Then may NEED to upgrade.
For life, too small. Will need 6 x 2-3 ft. Atleast.

U could keep ngt / silver / ntt for life in 5x2, but more than 2 or 3, would be too cramped.
I never seen one of the above 3 bigger than 12 inch in tank.

Thank you, now I know what to buy! ^^

My current datnoids count

It's a mix of datnoids, two 4"ish NGT, two 4"ish NTT, one 4"ish AT, one 4"ish IT and one 9" IT

with two 6" ish common pleco, one 6"ish sturgeon and one 6" sturio catfish in a 65G with ehiem 2217 and 2213 filter

I know it's overcrowded at the moment, so I am planning to upgrade to a 135G tank or bigger over the christmas (taking advantage of the boxing day sales)

;)

I have an IT and an AT in a 120G (48x24x24)

So not good for life? but a while at least? Both are under 4''

IT can grow 20 inch plus. Although it takes 7 years plus, it would be way too big for the 4 ft tank. ;)

in terms of what would be fair to the fish, a 18 inch plus IT would need a 7 x 2.5 tank minimum, imo

dont see why u cant keep the AT in the 4 ft for life.

:WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:

That's something new to me! :eek::eek::eek:

I have seen 12"+ IT in 7 years-ish time

but 20"+ in a period as short as 7 years???? First year, 6" and then 2.33" per year, isn't that a little too fast???

:eek::eek::eek:

*shocked*

depends on diet and filtration. I have got Indos from 4 to 10 inch in 15 months. Add an inch per year, roughly 16 inch. This one in particular did eat pellets and was the greediest, however. Another one took 3 years to get to that same size.

Tiger growth rate can vary. I suppose my answer was applicable to "max
growth rate" didn't mean to confuse you;)
