I'm looking to buy a 20gal long tank to put in my room and wanna make it into a cichlid tank with some nice plants and some driftwood. How many cichlids would you all recommend putting in there? Probably some that don't grow anymore than 4" or 5" or so. Don't wanna make stuff too crowded so I thought I'd get some opinions

4 africans and a smaller pleco would look good

you could go with 4-6 just make sure they are really small. That way you can expand later when they grow and you can get a larger tank. Just keep up on your WCs, always important.

or keyholes

if you want "plants and driftwood", then you don't want Africans, unless maybe you are thinking West African (riverine) cichlids

otherwise, try dwarf SA cichlids, like Rams or laetacara . . .
