Hi guys,
I have a 120 gallon 422 tank and currently house some community fish and I have 9 small clown loaches biggest one is 2", the LFS near my house is having a sale on them a couple of days from now and I'm wondering how many could I add to this group. I'm thinking getting another 5 giving me a total of 14 clown loaches, I know how big they get and I used to have a small group that I've grown up to 6 inches, but kinda stayed at that size for a long time until I sold them....upgrading to a bigger tank in some time is an option, but not at the moment......thanks....

you should be fine adding 5 more..... just make sure your filtration is enough to handle the bio load. as for tank size you should be ok for quite a while

you will be fine..i've got 32 clown's in a 90gal at moment with no probelms..water parameter's are good..as long as w/c's are kept up it'll be all good.

Went to my LFS today and miss out on the sale, I had to do something and was busy so I can only manage to go to the LFS one hour before they close and they sold out of the clown loaches, I was planning getting another 6. The price was pretty good it was $2.99 ea for a clown loach about 1"-1.5" they are normally $6.99 each....

Might be good you missed the sale. All the CLs under 2" I have seen lately look fair at best. If the sale does come back around, get a QT set up for those little guys and get them well feed prior to adding them to the exsisting group.

Very true. My most recent batch of 1 inchers looked pretty sad. They're starting to perk up now, though...3 weeks into QT time! Normally they would be ready to go into the grow-out about now, but these guys are gettin an extra 2 weeks added to their sentence. They just dont have the size/energy to compete for food yet.
