Here is my question, I am building a tank with the dimensions L=8ft W=3ft H=2ft

The inhabitants will be one black aro, two silver aro's, and a motoro stingray (will be getting another motoro in a year or two)

So I was just wondering, how many dats would be a good number? I do not know what type of dats I am getting right now, I may be getting thinbars, wide bars, or even indos.

I was guessing 6 would be an ok number?

8 x 3 x 2 breaks down to be about 103.7 gallons.
More like 359 gallons. 96" x 36" x 24" = 82,944 cubic inches/231 cubic inches/gallon = 359.1 gallons. I happen to have a tank with those exact dimensions.

I'd say 6-10 dats would be fine in that tank.

yeah it's a lot bigger than 100
a 75 is 46x18x21

just stick a 150 in there and have fun with it ;)

I'll just do any number between 6-10 then, and actually the gallons this tank holds is about 375 (according to the dimensions on glass cages it = 375 but theres may be different and I am building my own not buying from them) Thanks for the help.

IMHO you can keep as many fish as you want in any size tank... AS LONG AS YOU KEEP UP ON WC. remember as they get bigger the nitrate levels will get higher too. people will flame that you overcrowd if you over do it... just do what makes you satisfied at the same time keeping the fish healthy.
